Hello Love Hostess Set - Stampin' Up!

Perfect Peacock

Stampin, Up! released their new catalogue this month, there are so many things I would love to have, but unless I win Lotto sometime soon (although maybe actually buying a ticket would help, LOL), I will have to get things as I can afford them. I wasn't going to buy anything until next month, but I couldn't resist the Perfect Peacock stamp set. I have a lovely enamelled peacock at home, so I based the colours of my first card on that.

Stampin' Up! Masculine Card

At the end of the month it is my Fathers's birthday, and the card I made for him features a background stamp that is becoming a firm favourite. Stampin' Up! Hardwood is a fabulous wood grain stamp that looks like a wooden fence. It is from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue and is available until the end of June.

Hexagon Hive Thinlits Card

I have been having fun playing with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die from the new Occasions Catalogue, and this is one of the cards I came up with. I love hexagons, so this was fun to create with.

After die cutting a piece of Whisper White card stock, I decorated the die cut with hexagons offcuts from the die and lots of flowers. The cluster of larger flowers at the bottom right was made with another new set of products from the Occasions Catalogue, the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.

Did you note the cute dotted background behind the hexagons, it was done with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. This folder is becoming my all time favourite, and is one of the Sale-a-bration items that you can get for FREE when you purchase $90 during the Sale-a-bration period (January 28th - March 31st, 2014).

I also love the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper, the colours just work so beautifully together.

Thinking Outside the Box

I made this card for a friends 3 year old, the stamp set is Simple Stems from the new Occasions Catalogue from Stampin' Up! It is actually a flower set, but one of the flowers turned upside down, makes a great little hairy monster.

Happy New Year!  This is my first attempt at a blog, so please bare with me. So to start things off I wanted to share with you my latest creation of the ‘Card in a Box’ idea that I saw in a video by StampinT. I wanted to use up a retired kit I had bought last year, so used the Stampin' Up! kit Razzleberry Splash Simply Scrappin.
